The Tajiks Council of Australia respectfully invites all Tajiks residing in the State of Victoria, particularly the official members of the Council, as well as our esteemed brothers and sisters, to attend the General Assembly and actively participate in shaping the future direction of this institution and contributing to the service of the Tajik community of Australia and future generations.
This General Assembly provides members with the opportunity to exercise their right to vote in the election of the Council’s leadership and governing bodies, thereby contributing to the further strengthening of this cultural, social, and advocacy institution.
The members and the Tajik community residing in the State of Victoria are hereby informed that, in accordance with Article 11 of the Constitution of the Tajiks Council of Australia, the Founding Members of the Council have been entrusted with leading the establishment phase of the organisation, including creating its initial organisational structures, drafting and adopting the Constitution, officially registering and introducing the Council, organising cultural and social activities, and preparing the necessary arrangements for convening the General Assembly and conducting elections.
Throughout this transitional period, the Founding Members and the Interim Transitional Committee have been responsible for managing the Council’s initial affairs until the elected governing bodies are established. They now announce the convening of the General Assembly and the opening of nominations in accordance with the Constitution, with the aim of completing the orderly transfer of responsibilities to the Council’s elected institutions.
Elected Positions
1. Chairperson of the Executive Board of the Tajiks Council of Australia (Chairperson)
2. Members of the Council of Elders
3. Members of the Supervisory and Review Board
Candidate Eligibility
Nominees must meet the following requirements:
* Be a member of the Tajiks Council of Australia or submit a membership application at the time of nomination.
* Possess a good reputation, demonstrate ethical conduct, and be committed to the objectives, values, charter, and Constitution of the Tajiks Council of Australia.
* Have no serious criminal convictions or records inconsistent with the objectives and values of the Council.
* Be willing and prepared to actively and responsibly contribute to the advancement of the Council’s affairs.
Election Process
The election will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution of the Tajiks Council of Australia through a direct, secret, free, and transparent vote during the General Assembly.
Each eligible member shall be entitled to one vote, and the final results will be officially announced following the counting of all votes.
Candidate Registration
Eligible candidates may submit their nomination applications to the Secretariat of the Tajiks Council of Australia no later than 20 July 2026.

Candidates may also attach a brief personal profile, details of their cultural, social, civic, or professional experience, together with their proposed plans and vision.

The official notice of the General Assembly, including the date, venue, and election arrangements, will be communicated to members and the Tajik community through the Council’s official communication channels in accordance with Article 12 of the Constitution and within the prescribed legal timeframe.
The Founding Members and the Interim Transitional Committee of the Tajiks Council of Australia firmly believe that broad, informed, and responsible participation by members in this process will represent an important step towards strengthening the Council’s elected institutions, reinforcing social solidarity, promoting a culture of collective participation, and consolidating the position of the Tajiks Council of Australia as an independent, community-based, and cultural organisation.
