Get to Know Us

The Tajik Council of Australia is a community organisation established to preserve, promote, and strengthen the cultural, linguistic, and social identity of Tajiks living in Australia particularly in the State of Victoria.

Guided by the laws of Australia and the values of unity, respect, and service, the Council works to ensure that the Tajik community remains cohesive, empowered, and proud of its Persian (Dari) heritage while contributing actively to Australia’s multicultural society.

Our mission is carried out through three key areas of focus:

Cultural and Linguistic Development: We are dedicated to protecting and promoting the Persian (Dari) language and Tajik culture through education, arts, media, and community programs. Our aim is to strengthen cultural identity especially among the younger generation and to foster pride in our shared heritage.

Social Engagement and Solidarity: The Council works to build unity, social cohesion, and mutual support among Tajiks across Australia. Through social programs, events, and community initiatives, we encourage cooperation, empathy, and active participation that enhance the wellbeing and welfare of our members.

Advocacy and Representation: The Tajik Council of Australia advocates for the rights, interests, and recognition of the Tajik community within Australian society. We cooperate with cultural, social, and civic institutions to promote equality, inclusion, and the active participation of Tajiks in all aspects of public life.

Together, we strive to create a strong, connected, and vibrant Tajik community that honours its roots while embracing the opportunities of life in Australia.
