About International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is recognised around the world as an occasion to celebrate the social, cultural, economic, educational and professional achievements of women.

It is also a time to reflect on the experiences of women across different generations and communities and to recognise the important role women continue to play in shaping families, communities and societies.

Within our own community, women have made significant contributions through family leadership, education, employment, community service, cultural preservation, volunteering and participation in social and civic life.

This event provides an opportunity to recognise those contributions and to celebrate the women whose dedication, strength and commitment continue to enrich our community.

A Celebration of Women

The evening is intended to be a joyful and meaningful celebration for women of different ages and backgrounds.

Women and girls attending the event will have the opportunity to spend time together in a friendly and supportive environment, reconnect with friends, meet new members of the community and take part in a special program created for the occasion.

The event will celebrate women not only for their individual achievements but also for the important roles they play within families and communities every day.

Mothers, daughters, sisters, professionals, students, community volunteers, elders and young women all contribute in different ways, and this evening is dedicated to recognising and appreciating those contributions.

Women Supporting Women

A strong community is built when people support one another, create opportunities for connection and encourage participation across generations.

This International Women’s Day event is designed to strengthen relationships among women in the community and provide a space where friendships, networks and community connections can grow.

For younger women and girls, the evening also provides an opportunity to meet women from different backgrounds and generations whose experiences, achievements and community involvement can provide encouragement and inspiration.

For mothers and elders, it is an opportunity to share an evening with younger generations and celebrate the important connection between our cultural heritage, our community today and the future being built by the next generation.

Honouring Women’s Contributions

Women have always played an essential role in strengthening families and communities.

Their contributions can be seen in education, professional life, community service, cultural preservation, family wellbeing, volunteering, leadership and countless other areas of everyday life.

International Women’s Day gives us an opportunity to recognise these contributions publicly and to express appreciation for the dedication and effort of women throughout our community.

It is also an opportunity to encourage women and girls to continue pursuing education, professional development, community participation and leadership opportunities while maintaining strong connections with their families, culture and community.

Community Connection

One of the main purposes of this event is to create an opportunity for women to connect with one another in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Community events provide an important space for people to meet outside their everyday routines and build relationships based on friendship, shared experiences and mutual support.

Women attending the evening will have time to socialise, speak with other guests, meet new people and strengthen existing friendships.

The Tajiks Council of Australia encourages women from across the community to attend, including those who may be participating in a Council event for the first time.

A Welcoming Women’s Night

International Women’s Day will be celebrated as a dedicated women’s night, providing a comfortable and enjoyable environment for women and girls to spend the evening together.

The event has been planned with the intention of creating a welcoming atmosphere where attendees can participate freely, enjoy the program and celebrate without unnecessary formality.

Attendance is strictly limited to women and girls.

We respectfully ask all members of the community to understand and respect this arrangement, as it is an important part of the event and has been established for the comfort and enjoyment of the women attending.

The evening will provide an opportunity for women to come together in a setting designed especially for them and to enjoy a community celebration centred on friendship, recognition and shared experiences.

Event Program

The International Women’s Day program will include a range of social, cultural and community activities designed to create an enjoyable and meaningful evening.

The program may include welcoming remarks, recognition of women’s contributions, community presentations, cultural activities, opportunities for social interaction and other activities suitable for the celebration.

The evening will also provide time for women to speak with one another, reconnect with friends and enjoy the occasion together.

Additional program information may be announced through the official communication channels of the Tajiks Council of Australia closer to the event date.

Women Across Generations

An important part of this event is bringing together women from different generations.

Our elders carry knowledge, experience and traditions that have helped shape our community, while younger generations bring new ideas, skills and opportunities that will shape its future.

International Women’s Day provides an opportunity for these generations to come together, communicate and celebrate their shared connection.

By strengthening relationships between generations, we can help preserve important cultural values while supporting young women and girls as they pursue education, careers, leadership and community participation in Australia.

Recognising Strength and Resilience

The experiences of women are diverse, and many women have demonstrated extraordinary strength and resilience throughout their lives.

Women often carry significant responsibilities within their families while also contributing through work, study, community activities and care for others.

This evening provides an opportunity to acknowledge those efforts and to recognise that many important contributions take place quietly and without public recognition.

International Women’s Day reminds us of the importance of appreciating women not only for major achievements but also for the countless everyday contributions that strengthen families and communities.

Encouraging the Next Generation

Young women and girls are an important part of the future of our community.

We encourage younger generations to participate in cultural, educational, professional and community life and to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to pursue their goals.

By creating opportunities where women of different ages can meet and communicate, community events can help younger women develop stronger connections with their heritage while also building confidence in their future.

We hope this evening provides young women and girls with a positive experience and demonstrates the value of community participation, friendship and mutual support.

Celebrating Our Community

International Women’s Day is also an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of experiences, talents and achievements represented within our community.

Every woman has her own story, experience and contribution, and together these individual experiences form an important part of the wider story of our community in Australia.

Through events such as this, the Tajiks Council of Australia seeks to create opportunities for connection and participation while recognising individuals whose work, commitment and involvement strengthen community life.

The Council values the involvement of women in cultural, social and community initiatives and looks forward to supporting greater participation in future activities.

Who Is Invited

This event is open to women and girls who wish to join the International Women’s Day celebration.

This is a women-only event and attendance is exclusively reserved for female guests.

Women are encouraged to attend with their mothers, daughters, sisters, relatives and friends and enjoy this special evening together.

Both existing members of the Tajiks Council of Australia and women attending a Council event for the first time are warmly welcomed.

We encourage attendees to share information about the event with other women in their families and community who may be interested in participating.
